1. Read and annotate The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.
2. Write a 2-3 page essay (MLA format) answering this question: What did Tim O'Brien gain by serving in Vietnam? What did he lose? Support your opinions with passages from the text. Make sure to cite ALL passages correctly.
3. Read and annotate On Writing by Stephan King.
4. Write an outline each chapter, noting in the advice and concepts King presents. The outline must be typed and in MLA format. The outline may be in bullet format and you may use both phrases for your bullets or full sentences. Make sure to cite the page number your referring to.
